The photo mosaic is made up of 19 images selected from over 2000 captured during a 3 hour flight. The camera uses image stabilisation and is gyro-stabilised in one axis but motion blur is inevitable in KAP capture resulting in approximately 5-10% image loss. By moving the kite the site is covered by sequences of overlapping imagery which gives wide coverage despite height restrictions. |
Control of height is by digital altimeter relayed through a live video link to ground. Greater height reduces resoloution but increases the coverage per image. |
